Weekend with the Triplets

John and I stayed with the Triplets last Thursday thru Sunday while Karla and Max went to Winchester VA for a wedding weekend of a college friend. The babies were so much work but so much fun. We were exhausted by the end of every day but it was a good kind of fatigue.

We took them on walks and to the mall play area and to the pool. We wore them out as much as they wore us out. We played on the back porch one afternoon with the hose and the kiddie pool and they had us laughing our heads off while they crawled through the spraying water laughing. Josie is walking but ever so cautiously. She walks so very slowly and carefully. Marcus tries to run instead of walk because he gets so excited but when he is not thinking about it he will let go of something he is holding onto and walk to someplace he wants to be. Mia is so wiggly she will take a little longer before she balances herself so she can walk. She crawls at a very fast pace.

When Karla and Max got back home on Sunday night I almost hated to leave them because I was having so much fun.

We wanted to bring Charlie and Nathan to Roanoke this weekend but they are going with their dad to Stanton to see the other Grandparents. Maybe next time we will get to bring them. Maybe we will be able to talk their Mom and Dad to come too some time. Karla says she and the triplets will come up to Roanoke around the beginning of September when a friend from High School comes with her two kids.

I am going to add some pictures of the kids. Till next time.

Water Park fun

On Sunday the 12th we went with Tracey, Matt and the boys to the water park in Greensboro again. It was a great day, not to hot and not to crowded in the beginning.

Charlie has a real problem with anything boo boo related so we try to keep him band aid free if possible. Last week he had a band aid on his finger from a sliver he got while at his Nana and Poppy's house the week before. The sliver was gone but he milks these things.

We got to the water park, got the kids into the stroller and proceeded to the gate. We made it as far as going through the turnstile and Charlie got bumped by the stroller and fell and skinned his knee. After crying for a while Matt took him to first aid to get a band aid and of course he did not want to go in the water because he had a boo boo on his knee. It took us a couple of hours before he was distracted enough to go into the water after many tears he finally forgot and went down some water slides with Daddy. Nathan just played in all the kiddy pools and had a ball even when he scrapped his knee up a bit. The personality difference is crazy.

All in all the day turned out great and we all had a great time. We left the park by 4:20 and headed home with Nathan falling asleep as soon as his head hit the carseat headrest. He was a trooper and never fussed all day about being tired.
